David O'Connor – President & CEO, Director
Mr. O'Connor has more than 30 years experience in mineral exploration and has held senior positions with mining companies including Western Mining, North Ltd., Da Capo Resource Ltd., and Altoro Gold Corp.
Rebecca Hudson, CA – CFO
Rebecca Hudson also currently serves as the CFO of Sierra Minerals Inc. (“Sierra”). Prior to her appointment with Sierra, Ms. Hudson was most recently Controller of a Toronto-based junior mining company, with exploration and development projects in Mexico. In addition to assuming responsibility for financial reporting and internal controls, Ms. Hudson managed all local Mexican financial, tax and legal matters working through Mexican accounting and law firms. Prior to this, Ms. Hudson spent two years with Xstrata Canada (formerly Falconbridge Limited), first as Manager, International Exploration Accounting, and then as Manager, Financial Reporting and Control. She played a key role in providing accounting guidance to foreign exploration offices, as well as in the implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley regulations for the Exploration department.
Ms. Hudson holds a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in accounting and a Masters of Accounting with a concentration in taxation from the University of Waterloo. She earned her C.A. designation in 2000 with Grant Thornton LP, followed by two years with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the Dominican Republic. Ms. Hudson is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Michael Schuler – Vice President, Operations
Mr. Schuler has more than 30 years experience as an exploration geologist and exploration manager in various countries and is skilled in ore reserve calculation and bringing Projects to feasibility.
Antonio Ortuzar Jr. – Chairman
Mr. Ortuzar has been a member of the Board of Directors since the completing of the Company’s qualifying transaction in January 2007. Mr. Ortuzar is a lawyer and international partner with Baker McKenzie, Cruzat, Ortuzar, McKenna specializing in the mining sector. He also sits on the Board of several publicly listed companies and acts on behalf of a number of major mining companies in Chile.
Shaun Browne - Director
Shaun Brown comes to Explorator with over 19 years experience as a Managing Director of the AME Group, a major independent and global mineral economics and technical consulting firm. He has a vast knowledge of mineral economics and has many extensive contacts in the banking industry.
John Carlesso – Director
Mr. Carlesso is the President of Cervello Capital, a private merchant bank. He has more than 15 years in senior executive positions in international business and finance, and sits on the Board of several public listed companies. He was VP, Corporate Development at Desert Sun Mining (acquired by Yamana Gold) and CEO of Apogee Minerals Ltd.
Tony Wonnacott – General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Director
Mr. Wonnacott comes to Explorator with several years experience as a corporate lawyer. His strong background in law includes the Toronto firm, McMillan Binch, as well as corporate secretary for a number of publicly traded companies, including several TSX Venture Exchange-listed companies.
David Prins – Chairman Technical Advisory Committee
David Prins is a Civil Engineer with extensive experience in Chile including 12 years with Placer Dome Chile focused on guiding mining projects from concept through to commissioning. His experience includes multi-functional responsibilities on the $1.75 Billion feasibility at Cerro Casale and the $1.4 Billion Pueblo Viejo gold project in the Dominican Republic.
